IGF-1 LR3: Long-Acting Analog
A long-acting version of IGF-1: the Arg3 substitution and an N-terminal extension reduce its binding to the carrier proteins, multiplying its half-life and its potency.
What IGF-1 LR3 is
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is an 83-amino-acid analog of insulin-like growth factor 1. It combines an arginine substitution at position 3 with a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension.
Anabolic mechanism
Those modifications reduce its binding to the carrier proteins (IGFBPs), leaving more free, active peptide. The result: a much longer half-life than native IGF-1 (~hours versus minutes) and greater potency at the IGF-1R receptor, which activates cell proliferation, muscle hypertrophy and hyperplasia.
Research & cautions
Most of the anabolic evidence is preclinical / animal. Because of its potency, the literature highlights cautions: hypoglycemia (cross-reactivity with the insulin receptor) and the theoretical concern about cell proliferation. It is among the most potent compounds in the catalog and is handled strictly within a research framework. This is not medical advice.
